Sean Reilly
Self made entrepreneur set up McGarrell Reilly in 1981 and built the business to what it is today through more than one recession. The business started as a house building business on a small scale. Through the 80’s, he grew the new homes business and diversified into small scale offices.
Towards the end of the 80’s, the scale was increasing significantly. The Malahide Marina Village incorporating over 400 residential units in a highly landscaped environment was developed at this time. The quality of the development today is a testament to his foresight and standards set which continue today. Again around that time, he developed the 27,000 sq ft building which became the headquarters for the Health & Safety Authority.
From then on, his drive and pursuit of quality has been the inspiration behind a string of quality developments in Ireland, UK and Germany with the same traits demonstrated as was in evidence in the early years. Examples of these developments are Lusk New Homes, Lusk Village (> 600 new houses), Steeplechase New Homes Ratoath (>400 new houses), Stepaside Park New Homes (>200 new houses), Iveagh Court Complex, Harcourt Street, Dublin 2 (>250,000 sq ft high quality office accommodations and residential apartments). Sean has built up a very significant high quality investment portfolio with many Blue Chip tenants and a portfolio of significant development projects.
An example of this is the visionary Iveagh Court Complex in Dublin 2 incorporating a 2 acre island site housing a high quality living and working environment in a highly landscaped and maintained setting. In all projects, site location underpins everything. Through the years, Sean has demonstrated a particular specialism in selecting quality sites that can be maximised with the McGarrell Reilly product. The vision and energy demonstrated above in building the business and the highest calibre top management team continues to be a driving force in the McGarrell Reilly Group going forward with Sean as Executive Chairman.
